It is to bad about the decline of horse racing. Casinos (Riverboats) are far more popular now here in the Midwest. Many tracks hurting bad. Keeneland and Churchill doing ok and great facilities. Keeneland group bought out Turfway park or it would be a dead ghost town now.
Does anyone care about Horse Racing???

#72Take a ride on a two lane anywhere through the rolling hills of the Bluegrass of Kentucky. See all of the for sale signs on one horse farm after another. See all the farms going to absolute auction every weekend. As you ride down a road you rode down just 5 years ago, ask yourself where did all the mares and their babies go. Try to give a broodmare away. Maybe even one that's won over a $100K. See if you can?
Check the sales prices at Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton and Ocala. See what the vast majority of horses....the non-boutique horses are bringing.
Then on a beautiful summer afternoon go to picturesque River Downs along with the 200 or so others, and watch the pretty ponies run for purses of $3400.Comment
