Nobody found this funny enough to respond. That makes me feel like a big loser... :marsububu

Did anyone bet on Maddenisms out there?

Sorry, Ira. I did not bet any of them.

I was unable to get anyone to respond to the snubbing of Billcow by Holmgren at the end of the game. Has anyone heard anything about this story?

I heard that Holmgren went to the Steelers lockerroom after the game and talked to Cowher in private. That's about all that's known.

As for the Madden prop, I heard about it and kinda thought about it during the game. But, I realize that I barely listen to the announcers while the action is live. I love Madden, but the reality is that I barely even listen to him during the actual game.

I never thought much either way about Holmgren, but he is coming off as a genuine prick and sore loser. The NFL needs to shut him up because his gripe is not even legit.

I think it's pretty unanimous about the 2 phantom calls which involved the Seattle TD that was called back for "holding", then the next play was the interception where somehow Hasselback made a chop block while making the tackle. The Roethlisberger TD was questionable as was the offensive pass interference call on another Seattle TD play. It might not have been so bad, but these were all game changing plays in a very tightly competitive game. I'm not defending Holmgren. I'm saying that the referees did influence the game, and I was rooting for Pittsburgh.

In the offseason there has to be something done about the qualitiy of the officiating. I don't know if extra training, extra personnel, more testing of the refs, or what is needed. These problems have to be addressed. The Super Bowl was a Super Dud with this kind of officiating.

I agree completely about everything you said except that the outcome of the game was changed. The Jackson touchdown was an interpretation of the rule and nobody can deny that he pushed off on the play. At most that was a 4 point difference. Ben's "touchdown" was at worst a half an inch short of the endzone with another down. You know they would have just given the ball to Bettis and he would have...

            FUMBLED?!?!

Oh that reminds me of the most poorly officiated game I have ever seen, which also occured in this year's postseason.

            I guess your right, Slacker.

I still don't think it would have made the Seahawks winners like Mike Go Holmgren wants everyone to believe, but anyone betting the spread definitely had a gripe. Maybe Mike was on the spread???????!!!!!!!

I think Holmgren's gripe is that he wasn't given a fair chance at a fair game. That gripe is valid. Just as valid as Jerry Porter's gripe after their win against Indy. I'd love to hear Jerry Porter's take on the quality of the calls during the Super Bowl!

Jerry Porter says, "It's a conspiracy! The NFL wanted the Steelers to win the Superbowl."
