3 game losing streak for the gators. Did he lose 3 games the last couple of years? Says more than urban's coaching was at play.

also says something about having to retool an entire defense also, but you're right the dual threat tebow presented is not there

It is far and away more than the retooling of the defense. It is more than replacing a Tebow or a Pouncey, it is more than shifting a sure fire lineman to play center, it has been and continues to be coaching.
Steven Adazio is a good guy, he is a decent lines coach but he is not nor is it likely could he ever be an offensive coordinator.
There is no continuity or flow to the play selection. The passing route that are schemed are not designed for the players on the field or the ability of the line. The quarterback (even previous quarterbacks) are not being taught to check down during plays. They have a primary and that is where they are going. They aren’t being allowed to check off to a different play, partially due to experience but mainly due to scheme.
Play action can be done even with this style of offense but Adazio doesn’t seem to understand how to teach it. Brantley is a capable passer but he’s not designed for this style of offense.
Players (even just athletes) can be motivated just so much before they start to see things aren’t working and lose faith.
Top level teams and coaching staffs adjust. It might take time to make those adjustments through recruiting and such but they adjust, they evolve and they stay ahead of the curve. Urban got away with this style of offense because it was new and he was loaded with athletes that were more talented and determined than the offense itself.

tebow, demps, rainey hernandez, o-line.....all gone. demps just now back. now go back to tebow and understand he has the most impact to a team winning in the history of college football. there has never been a qb who did what he did for his team, ever period end of story. you cannot replace that person in one year. also they play a very tough schedule. again go back and forget everything except what i said about tebow and make sure you know what he means to a team and not if he can throw further than rex grossman. tebow was most influential qb and meant more to his team's success than any college qb in the history of the game. there is no disputing this fact. good luck!

I think Florida is missing their former assistant coaches more than former players. Which is basically what Wally was saying. Charlie Strong and Dan Mullens are difficult to replace.

Their offense struggled at times last year too. If it wasn't for Tebow it would have completely bogged down at times. They miss someone like Percy Harvin who could stretch the field. Brantley may be a good qb, but he isn't the guy for the system. Maybe Burton could be, but there's absolutely no secret what he's going to do when he is in the game.
The good news is that the fat desperate girl in the bar is next on their schedule. That's right, here comes Mark Richt and "the streak buster" defense. They'll look like the 1999 Rams against UGA.

Teams lose coordinators all the time and every year. What is the big deal? Florida's talent level had fallen last year, but it wasn't as obvious until the Bama beatdown.

they gave up points to the big boys, 31 to alabama, 33 to LSU. They've held weaker offenses down and LSU isn't exactly a scoring machine. Their recruiting classes have been at the top yr after yr. They lack the dual threat at QB which you must have for a zone read type team. The QB MUST be a running threat in order to make the defense account for him as a run option.

Should Florida not be expected to score more than 10 points no matter who they play? I think so. Not buying it. Florida should score more than 10 points running out of the I formation or wing T. I don't care what offense they run, 10 points should be must to win the game.

Florida's D has hardly been the problem. The offense has continually put them in bad spots. The LSU game was not one of their better moments on D but once again their offense didnt do them any favors. Two of LSU TD drives began inside of Floridas 40 yard line and the game winning TD took patented Les Miles magic on a fake FG bounce pass.
The 33 points from Alabama came on only 273 total yards and the Gators turned the ball over 4 times on offense. Miss State scored 10 points and once again the only TD came off of a Brantley interception.
Florida is by no means a dominant defensive team and thus mistakes by the offense can make them look much worse than they really are.

5 losses for Florida. Tebow really meant something on both sides of the ball for UF. I never remember the defense giving up 30+ points in his tenure. Cam couldn't help this bunch.

Incompetent coaching staff from top to bottom, including Meyer. Pathetic game plans, low energy, horrible execution, poor play calling, etc., etc., This season is 100% on the coaches. All of them need to go and if Urban is going to not take responsibility for this mess he needs to get the hell out of town too. Meyer this year was worst than Zook any year. Pathetic. Just retire and do everyone a favor and lay off the meds.

Tebow is terrible. He has to bend over and take it from kyle orton as his backup. Even the 9ers kicked the shit out of the Broncos and they even tried to cheat. Good college player but never in the pros
