who was the best NFL coach of all time
i was up at the pool hall tonight, and this question came up. i've heard people say it was lambradi, walsh, parcells, gibbs, shula. the one name everyone left out was the one i said.

i think chuck knoll had to be the all-time best. what chuck knoll did was just unheard of really. he built that steelers team from scratch and won 4 superbowl's.

Since Parcells has led so many differnet teams to the postseason he gets my vote.

My first thoughts came to Lombardi, Knoll and Belichick. Next level would be Shula, Landry, Walsh, Gibbs, Parcells, etc.

I don't know a lot about the 70's steelers, but Knoll must've done something right.

Same thing with Belichick, I don't know how he does it, but he just does it. I was disappointed with the Denver loss in the playoffs, but it doesn't diminish what he's done in the last few years.

If Shanahan can win another Super Bowl, I might move him into the second tier. I might move Parcells down if he can't make the playoffs with the Cowboys next season.
