The Israel Police National Fraud Unit’s computer crime squad today raided the offices of websites MSN Israel and Start, owned by Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) and Internet Gold Ltd. (Nasdaq: IGLD; TASE:IGLD). The police also raided the offices of Nana, owned NetVision Ltd. (TASE: ). The websites are suspected of advertising illegal online gambling sites.
Two weeks ago, at the order of the Attorney General and State Prosecutor, the Police Investigations and Intelligence Department began enforcing laws against advertising of online gambling sites, especially online advertising.

Police investigators today continued gathering prima facie evidence of illegal advertising on the Internet of gambling sites. Investigators said MSN Israel and Start continued to publish advertisements of gambling sites, despite police action against Walla! Communications Ltd. (TASE:WALA) and Sport Line, and media reports detailing enforcement measures.

Investigators today searched the offices of websites and companies that advertised gambling sites, in an effort to gather evidence against suspects. As of webposting, the police were questioning senior managers of these websites and companies.

And WHY, may I ask? This is not american MSN. Do you think there are problems depositing to books using credit card in Europe? NO. Western Union? They gladly process gambling transactions. I could go on and on...

I would think that any country affiliated with MSN.com would have to follow certain guidelines outlined by the parent company...when gates and company outsourced to these countries, I don't think this is the type of affiliation they had in mind...

I don't know about MSN, but when you hear reports from various sources and from Western Union itself it would appear that they do not approve gambling transactions at all; same goes with ****. In reality however, it is just restricted mainly to the USA.
