Would Carolina really need to trade up to #1 to take Richardson? Now they'll have a QB (maybe) and they lose their best receiver a bunch of picks. They will regret. Great haul for the Bears.

I would assume they are taking Young.

I haven't really been following but... I'm pretty sure they want Richardson. Crazy how much they gave up... just a massive haul for Chicago

Yeah, and a rookie QB without receivers...Carolina will likely be bottom-feeders. That first rounder next year will probably be top 5.

I think I remember hearing Bears' asking price was 3 first rounders and... I think this is even better. Moore is a legitimate WR1, still young and 3 years remaining on a very reasonable deal

That Texans' 2 point conversion made this all possible

Panthers skipped on Kenny Pickett in last years draft. Interesting they did it now.

Draft props have been taken down at all my books, so I can't verify this. But VSIN just said that Stroud has moved from +200 to -200 as being the first pick. Young has gone from -250 or so to plus money.

I read in The Athletic last month that Fields was bitching a moaning about how the winter Chicago weather is not conducive to his style of play (or something to that effect)

Personally speaking, I don't want players like that.
Adjust and adapt or STFU is what I say, but then again I say a lot of things.

You know who could play in brutal winter weather?
Guys like Terry Bradshaw, Favre, Big Ben, Aaron Rodger, Eli, Josh Allen, Jim Kelly, Mahomes, and that Brady fella.
Seems to me they adapted and adjusted.

The long list of Bears QB failures continues.
Amazing how they've never had a great QB, no less a good one.
Bears defense carried Jim McMahon who was mediocre at best, Jay Cutler was not.

Think about it, name a noteworthy Bears QB that was really good not named Sid Luckman, win valuable prizes.

The Bears had a chance to draft Patrick Mahomes. They missed out on an elite quarterback.

Andy helped make mahomes. Letting him be more like a point guard.

I think McDaniel would kill it with Mahomes

I guess they figured that Young and Stroud would go top 2 and Houston wasn't going to trade the pick, so if they wanted him they had to move to 1.

The combine gurus that I pay attention to are pretty much saying not only is Stroud NFL ready right now, he's got the potential to be the next big thing one scout said, I'm reading he's doing some eye popping things.

I'm not sure Eberflus is the correct head coach for Stroud though.
Eberflus is a defensive minded coach, he was linebacker for those good Toledo teams in the MAAC in the 90's.
Bears need offense, defense doesn't win anymore like the 1985 Bears and the 1986 Giants.

Look around the league now, what's the common denominator?
Teams with strong offensive minded head coaches are winning all the hardware these days.
Coaches like Dabol for instance, look at what he did for Allen in Buffalo and Daniel Jones for the Giants, a big reason why many are saying (me included) the game has passed Bill Belichick by, Belichick still thinks ball control and defense still wins, it does not.

Bears need an offense guru HC, not another defense specialist.

*Stroud played very well vs Georgia.
*Will always be a question about Bryce Young's size. Alabama was very lacking in Big Plays this past year.

The wrong team left Chicago. I'm not a big Fields fan. If memory serves me, they had a chance to draft Bradshaw. Bears QB "failures" would be considered an upgrade to me.

How dare you tell a man of color to STFU?

                                              I'm very offended.

Carolina is going to draft Stroud, no the Bears. Regardless though, the HC doesn't necessarily matter that much for the QB. More about the OC.

I think Stroud will eventually be good, but Carolina won't be good next season. And they really made it tough trading away all those picks.

I think it's a smokescreen. They want another Cam Newton

This might just be a way to find out who really wants Stroud and they can re-trade the pick

Young, I don't think is in the picture at all. It'd be either Richardson or Stroud

I already said this awhile back, but when the Panthers hired Frank Reich, it looked like an intention to tank a few more years. Not sure the direction of their franchise, but nobody in their division is going to win a playoff game anytime soon. I'm going to guess Carolina isn't interested in winning for the next few years until they get more pieces in place, which will be 3 years minimum. Reich will be replaced by then.

Panthers suck. Cam Newton sucked with that experiment. Their coaching and drafting players suck. Be shocked if they make the playoffs next year.

They don't want to win next couple of years so missing those high draft picks next couple years is probably part of the plan to ensure it.

They don't want to win next couple of years so missing those high draft picks next couple years is probably part of the plan to ensure it.

If they had kept Wilks, they could easily dispose of him if they have a bad season. Is Stroud that much of a prospect to make this deal? Wonder where this trade rates on the old Jimmy Johnson conversion chart.
