Quick walk thru the brackets. Who is the best PROSPECTIVE finals matchup?

133: Bravo-Young vs Fix. It's amazing, Fix has only a handful of losses in whole career but no title.
141: Woods vs Allirez (noColo). Don't really like how the Iowa wrestlers skipped so many matches.
165: Carr vs O'Toole. Carr beat him twice, but it would figure to be close.

He's having a great year. I'll set the HWT line at (maybe) a surprising #:

*Parris MICH - to win +100
    *Field -120

...Feel like there could be an upset. Schultz (ARIZ St) is 5-seed on top side of the bracket. NCAA Finalist last year.

Few days away. Coronation-time this year:

125: Lee looking to be a 4-timer. Best NCAA Light-weight ever? It's close. Gene Mills and Uetake (OklaSt) in the discussion.

149: Yianni (CORN) going for 4 as well. He did take a loss earlier in the season. But it would be very hard to see him losing in this bracket.

Pretty good tribute. No joke, I think Spencer is the Lightweight GOAT. He's on a very short list:

If the seeds go to form, I think the Finals will set to:
    *Start at 141
    *Finish at 133

If Yianni makes the Finals, he would have first crack to be a 4-timer. Lee would have chance to be 4-timer at 125. And 133 would be a for-the-marbles match 1vs2.

Enjoy, BigDay. Thur/Fri should be a National Holiday for Sport-fans.

Happy to say I'll be taking those two days off.

Athlete interviews often don't tell much. That said, a few observations:

    1) Yianni is a mental giant. No chance of breaking this guy.

    2) Daton Fix is so cool. Hard to imagine a great athlete being more of a reflection of his coach. Guy lives wrestling, easy guy to root for.

Will post a few comments/updates throughout the day:

    125
*Lee is such a monster. Ramos (PUR) did have him on his back this year. That said, Lee is Super-human, he has to be > 90% to win this bracket.
*The Big10 wrestlers are particularly good at this weight.
*Wonder if Glory (20-0) really thinks he could beat Lee. Glory gave Suriano a great match last week.
*BigDay: McKee (MINN) to make the Semifinals?

    149

Demas (Cal Poly) wins opener, 18-3. Sets up at somewhat interesting matchup: Yianni vs Demas.

Not at all saying it's an upset bid. But Demas did finish as high as 4th at OKLA.

125: 28-seed Cardinale (West VA) Beats 5 Smith.

Upset. Cardinale was injured for much of the year. Nice win.

Every mat is on ESPN+, for those who subscribe.

Not to mention there's a matcast, with like 8 matches in split screen.

It's worth it just for this time of year.

    I've got it up.

Lee leaving no doubt (so far):

    *TF (17-0) in 1st period.

Not IMPOSSIBLE that he has a physical problem b/c of the series of matches. But he looks very good.

Murin (IOWA) near-miss vs Yianni. Almost got the back-pts, but ref felt like he didn't have the angle. Yianni wins 8-7, onto Semifinals.

Any Semi-final matches that you find intriguing?

    125:
    *Top four seeds advance.
*Not saying Ramos (PUR) is a threat to upset. But he did have Lee on his back in 1st meet. Has to give him confidence. And Lee maybe a tad more cautious w/ the near-fall in mind.
*Glory has (quietly) looked really good.

    *174:
    *Think the matchups are intriguing.
*Would love to see Foca beat Storacci. Probably wishful thinking. I do think Foca will go in confidently.
*Lewis (former champ) vs 2-seed Labriola. Could go either way.

    Hvy:
    *Top 4 seeds.
*Cassioppi threatened to beat Parris in the dual. But Parris has been top guy at this wt.
*Kerkvliet vs Hendrickson. Hendrickson has scored a ton of pins. Should be interesting.
