Texans Hire Demeco Ryans from the 49ers

    https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...new-head-coach

now was he lucky cause he had good players or is he a good coach? you can always say that with a lot of coaches, especially with the 49ers defense.

saleh had good players before him and now has turned the jets defense into a powerhouse so at least that worked out somewhat. doesn't mean saleh is a good overall coach though (yet).

    Polo, he's respected. I think he's a good coach.

I'll be rooting for him. I just don't want to hear any more about the "black Head Coach." He's a Homo Sapien, not a "colored guy."

Ryans can flat out coach. The Niners defense has been among the top in the league but some of that of the players and most of it has been coaching those players up which Ryans does very well. He deserves a shot to be a HC in the league based on merit I think.

Good for him but this is what NFL owners do. They give the colored man a shot in a place where he has no shot. Then fire him to bring in the white guy. It is what it is.

Texans giving him a six-year contract, so he should get at least three full seasons to show something. The prior two coaches never had a chance to be there more than a season.

He'll probably get fired in 3 years and return as DC somewhere. Most of these coordinators are awful hires.

Young or Stroud will most likely be the #2 pick?

This is why comments like Chucky’s are so asinine. There’s a reason it’s still a thing, which is because it’s still a thing

Yes, Digg. That's part of the contract.

He'll be giving the pep-talk. Then he'll be putting on his helmet and playing LB.

the Watson deal really F them up. set them back a couple of years. Look for them to draft Young or Stroud with #2 pick in the draft. That should help the rebuilding process?

It might help… Watson did F them up but they seem to always take 2 steps forward and 10 steps back. No reason a great city like Houston shouldn’t have a decent team.

Is it because they prefer white guys, or because there are more white guys? Obviously white guys aren't given preference as players, so I don't understand the whole black and white thing in the NFL. I really could not care less, but it's 6am here and I'm taking a shit. Gotta fill the void with something.

Texans current gm had to undo the damage that Bill O'Brian did. Billy destroyed this team. That guy is really stupid. Our current gm is way better. I love you.

i hope for his sake he can last. i was wondering if he was blessed with a good skill set of players or if he can really coach. we shall see.

the texans need to give him a chance. no immediate results. let him build something.
