I would guess that Ricky Gervais may be as close as we get now.

It's been a while but I saw a study that the biggest 2 week period for deaths by natural cause was Christmas Day to January 7. It makes sense if you think about it. People running around for the holidays, old people with a foot in the grave not letting go to see loved ones one last time, people eating more food not paying attention to diet etc, stress in general.
