16 straight. Has to do with all the Run plays.

Defenses are prepared by seeing the similar Offense in practice. Game plays like running-clock. Oddsmaker adjusts the Total down...and it still goes Under.

I really like the call from Gary/Ness. These teams just cancel each other out.

So many tough linebackers that like to hit. How do you hit a play that surprises the defense? Passing game mostly a mystery.

We ran the veer, 2 of the years I played high school football, it puts a lot of pressure on the edge! Especially if you don't see it but once a year!

We played maybe 4 other teams in 4 years that ran the option, and of course the 2 years we ran it, we were a lot more prepared for it

Ya, Jack, very true. There's a saying that you really want to play the option team after a bye week. Takes extra preparation to get down all the assignments.

If you don't cover all the assignments, you wind up with a guy running free into the secondary. Big plays out of the rushing game are deadly.

Sometimes, they run the play-fake and you see the receiver run open by 10 yards. Doesn't happen too often, tho.

the passing plays are almost hilarious in this game. i love the fact that its the only game on this week every year. be a tough watch otherwise. and i didn't bet the game so a bit more of a drag. these guys cannot throw a lick.

i've seen them open by 10 yards and the qb missing them by a mile. can't say if it ends up this score as it takes one big run play on either side. not expecting a td pass for sure lol.

its crazy they announced its never been an overtime in over 100 years of the rivalry. with the offenses that is surprising. looking like ot today for sure.

*NCAA rules committee chair when overtime was adopted in 1996.

Danielson just said there have been SEVEN ties in the series.

I have mentioned b4. The Coll overtime really changes the landscape on small Dogs. Ties impacted the ATS results a lot b4 1996.

NFL overtimes are a different animal. Under the old Sudden Death rule, Ties were pretty rare. Approximately one in 800 games. Roughly once every three seasons.

If you go back to the early 1970s, Ties were much more common. Sudden Death rule came in 1974.

Madden had quite a few Ties as HC. 7 ties in 10 years:

It's a good question. I actually liked the old-school view of Ties (except for Playoff situations).

I say that b/c I'm of the view that Football should be a test of all aspects of your team. Take the Coll FB overtime rule. If you have a great punter, he won't see the field in overtime.

Punt return or your kickoff and kick return teams. Same with them, if they are a strength that you use to win games, they have taking it away from you in that OT
