    Houston Astros signing José Abreu

As if they needed any more offense, this will make them extremely scary. Especially with Abreu backing up Yordan Alvarez. One of the best offenses ever assembled in the last 10 years.

Baseball has a parity issue that’s getting worse before it gets better.

Doing this with no GM. Crane goes to his baseball people, analytics and old school, then makes the deal himself.

Should be in jail after that bat attack up the street here.
I think he's out of baseball all together now.

There haven't been a back to back World Series winner since the 2000 Yankees but the Astros are capable of repeating.

Abreu fills the 1B void, they will not sign Gurriel now and Mancini was just a 'rental'.
There's still question marks in Houston.
Sign Vazquez or find another catcher?
Will they pay ridiculous money for forty year old Verlander who is a year removed from TJ surgery, there can't be much left in that Hall of Fame arm?
Brantley is probably gone, as well as a couple of bullpen pitchers.

This is why I don't start breaking down the 2023 season until late January, too many teams with too many FA question marks.

I know, my wife is an insane Red Sox fan, she almost cried when Boston moved Vazquez to Houston.
I was a catcher in HS and college, I like Vazquez's defense myself.

Houston more than likely will not resign him, he can't hit much outside of Fenway Park, his home/away splits are almost fifty points apart, and at age 32 is not young for a catcher.

The most logical landing spot for CV is St. Louis.
The Cards are in desperate need for catching, and more than likely sign a one year deal for about eight million dollars.
I know the Pirates are interested in Vazquez's services, and the Red Sox may resign him as well, that's on Vazquez if he want to return to Boston.
