    what's your worst loss ever?
not so much in terms of money, but just the actual loss itself. mine was back in early 2017. had an underdog new mexico ML against nevada in hoops action. i can't remember, but i think new mexico was getting like +280 at the start. i pushed around $800 on them. they beat nevada twice the year before and almost knocked them out of the moutain west championship in a third matchup. was pretty confident they could win at home.

new mexico pretty much led the whole game and were up 25 points with 11 minutes left. 19 with less than 4 minutes left. 14 with 1:29 left. they got a rebound at 1:15 and had it wrapped up. then dude turns it over a few seconds later and nevada goes off. they go 6-6 on 3's in that final minute.. and new mexico only goes 4-10 from the FT line. game goes to OT.

new mexico is up 5 and has ball with 1:35 left. they turn it over and nevada gets a pair of FT. then they get a dunk and cut it to 1. nevada fouls, and of course, new mex only hits 1 FT to go up 2 with 8 seconds left. i said to myself "90% chance nevada takes a 3 and makes it." i check back half hour later. yeah, of course they drained a 3 with a couple seconds left.

i can't remember another game i had years earlier because it was so shocking, or else it would probably be my worse. same thing with an underdog. same thing with bricking FT at the end and blowing a lead. i think they were up 2 with 1 second left. guy goes to the line and bricks both FT. dude on the other team grabs the board and launches a full court heave that goes in and i lose. i mean, i don't even think it was 1 full second left. the way he chucked it was unbelievable. it was so shocking even the gamecast didn't update for like 10 minutes. i was staring, jaw dropped for about 30 minutes when it finally did.

Play-by-play action for the Nevada Wolf Pack vs. New Mexico Lobos NCAAM game from January 7, 2017 on ESPN.

Circa 1987 Frank Viola on the mound for the Twins. Top three pitcher in the league around that time. Top of the ninth Minny has a 9-0 lead. Yup, they lost.

Worst loss amount wise was dropped like 20k over the course of Breeder's Cup Friday and Saturday like 13 years ago..

Worst loss emotionally was when I took a swing at live NL Holdem game that was a much higher limit than I would usually play. All-in against 1 other guy after the flop. Monster pot. His only out was runner runner to quad up his pocket pair. 1000/1 I think.

Dxp…..I had that game too, and couldnt believe what I was watching. I was betting under pressure at the time, and this one really did me in. Very soon after, I took time off, got my finances in check, and jumped back in maybe a year later with a new attitude, and things have been really good since. I needed this loss to figure some things out. It was a blessing in disguise for me when I look back.

you must Foxx be a heavy hitter to lose that much coin on the ponies. GL moving forward.

It was a long time ago. My approach has evolved some since then, so has the game.

Don't remember the exact details, but it was in 2009, GB vs Sea Monday night, had a terrible week betting wise, so I went all-in which was around $3000 - this was alot of money at that time as a student. Don't remember the exact details anymore, but it was when the replacement refs were doing the games, last play of the game, they ruled it a catch when it wasn't (or was it the other way around?)... I was on the spread and lost everything... I was totally numb and obviously it was the worst feeling in the world... I didn't place a bet for about 10 months after that game

Last night was pretty brutal, took Vikings +14.5 live in the 2nd half and Cousins blows 1st and goal twice, only needed a field goal
                                4k lost on that

I lost $200k on the 1986 World Series and I couldn't pay so I fled. They caught me and blew my brains out.

OMG i have had so many tough losses especially this past year. One was b9th up 2 runs 2 outs a walk a single and a 3 run HR. But the worst had to be an NHL game that would have won almost $5000 they needed 1 goal for the Over and pulled the goalie with a full 4 minutes left. They did not score a goal with an empty net in 4 full minutes .

50k Patriots Rams Super Bowl. Honestly didn’t even lose sleep over it. Got it all back that year and ended well. Needless to say the amount I bet on NFL if I do. Is very small has been for years

back in those days when you were betting that large, were you doing so because you were so successful at it, had a large bankroll, and a lot of disposable income?...

or were you doing well betting, but still betting way over your head with respect to whatever other income you were generating in life - i.e. did that $50K represent a large % of your overall net worth at the time?

That's easy. I had the Warriors over 105.5 and the game over 215.5

Warriors kicked ass all game leading 96 to 83 going into the 4th and then....

Minnesota -8.5 against Arizona back in 2006. Look at the play by play of the game; just ridiculous.

My worst loss ever was when Trump beat Clinton. I am a Republican but I didn't think Trump had a chance in hell to win. I always thought it was all set up in place for Clinton and it was going to be an easy victory. I kept dumping money into it, I don't even know how much it was but it was a massive amount.

Not one of my baddest loss but a recent one was parry in the tennis, think I had won 3 previous bet so out all the winnings on parry and she was up 6-1 4-1 40-0, somehow had a bad feeling and tried to hedge few times in this match but kept getting rejected as Friedsam the opponent would win couple points in a row everytime tried to hedge, think parry was up a break 2 or 3 times final set too
