dodgers are going to be a tough out. Only thing that would help the Mets is if the dodgers start slumping in the nlds and nlcs, otherwise would be difficult for the Mets to score enough to knock them out

I don't think he was ever seriously hurt. He and his agent are planning a mega contract - and if they inform the Mets he can't pitch in May-July, the Mets just have to take it.

Isn’t he signed until 2024 at appx 33 mil per season? Just turned 34 in June.

He has an opt-out clause and can go free agency next season. The way he pitches normal rules do not apply, contracts are like suggestions.

I think this season is showcase for a bidding war in the offseason. Braves, Dodgers, even Yankees have been mentioned. He likes the Mets, but it's not about that anymore - and with all this in the offing, no way is he risking a full season's work.
