Andre Drummond - Good Player and Cheap Salary
He gets 3.3 million a year. That is a steal and worth every penny in today's NBA. Great signing by the Bulls.

Terrible defense on the ball, in the paint and on help. Below avg offensive game, horrendous free throw shooter.

He's basically a big body that can get defensive rebounds or put backs. That's the extent of his game, he's a liability in the fourth quarter on a winning team

Well he's not being paid to be or intended as a starter. He's a good situational role player, I would think. And I think his paint defense is not as bad as you paint.

Just for comparison Hartenstein is getting 8mil per year on a 2-year deal. How the mighty have fallen. Pistons were considering giving him the max not so long ago. He should have jumped at what ever they were offering clearly.

Both quality backup bigs I might add.

Nuggets meanwhile added DJ -to be their backup centre instead of Cousins? NOT so good...

Going into FA, Bulls desperately needed to address shooting and interior defense. By signing Andre Drummond, they added size off the bench but no real interior defensive threat.

Drummond allowed 59.4% shooting inside 6 feet last season, which is the below average mark for centers. Vooch was at 63.3%.

If the Bulls keep Vucevic as they say they will and use the remaining $6.8M salary cap to address shooting, they will still struggle tremendously defending the paint.
