Lakers love signing old players and paying them top salaries. Westbrook has bad knees and just sucks, he's not that ancient but still. Those old players end up injured or get to old and just suck. I remember the Steve Nash and Karl Malone experiments. It's in the Laker management DNA to sign old cans. They miss Jerry West.

Don't forget paying Kobe the last couple of years. He was done, yet they still extended his contract for max amount.

They remind me how the NY Yankees used to make their team. Sign the biggest names; doesn't matter if they produce or not.

Kobe still had game but he blew out his achillies because he was trying so hard. That team was still struggling to make the playoffs as I remember still.

Again Kobe was to old and couldn't hold, got injured. Lakers paid him so much money they couldn't acquire other super stars either to help Kobe out. Another failed operation with the Lakers and Kobe there in the end.

He tries, I'll give him credit for effort, but those turnovers are lethal.
Why does this team stat not surprise me?

    *side note*
Hawks with the fewest team turnovers do surprise me though.

and everyone can hate on russ, but in his prime he was 1A with KD, won an mvp, and pretty sure he avg over 20 ppg on each of the 3 triple double seasons. not easy to avg 20 ppg in the nba when you can't shoot, and still get over 10 assists. 6'4 avg 10 rpg, i don't care how many people say steven adams gave him. he was one of the most skilled players in the league for years...

    Agree
The high turnover ratio is astonishing, but if anybody can't appreciate the effort Russ displays, then one is paying attention.

I'll give you a name, Brian Taylor NYY
Going to be the next big thing.
Got into a fist fight defending his brother, blew out his pitching arm throwing a roundhouse right, that missed, the punch was an air ball.

That was an idiotic, dumb ass decision

The problem is he's a TOTAL has been now. He lost his mojo!

I've never seen a star and skilled player decline so fast. My personal thoughts are he lost his confidence as his explosive athletism began to decline. He should be in the D league today or retire. The dude can only help NBA teams lose games at this point.

Lakers should bench his ass for the entire year if you ask me. Bring in a young unknown point guard talent and rebuild. Lebron and AD must understand before they both get injured.

Use him as a sixth man, first guard off the bench.
Give him like 24 minutes a game, insert Russ when LBJ gets some rest.
Face it, both LBJ and Russ can't play 36 minutes anymore.

Good luck Darvin Ham, you'll need it.

only way i see it is russ as a 6th man. lakers don't have a good bench, but he can still play pg against another teams bench. the lakers bench will be their biggest problem. and shooting.

He should have been coming off the bench last year, but he wasn't willing and management wouldn't let Vogel drop the hammer.
