Okay pimike, I'll bite.
I would say the Oilers did a great job of setting up for the postseason. Coaching change, limited minutes for Smith, no individual awards (we don't need no stinking badges -Donker), and quietly sitting in second or third in the division as the season unfolded. The problem is some rumors hit that the backup Goaly is going to Switzerland after the season (right at the beginning of the Flames series), Kane was largely unaccounted for and now is, Mike Smith has doubters amongst the talking heads, and the Oilers were criticized for lack of depth. I believe they have been hoodwinked in this series by Colorado thus far.
Bednar looks straight out of central casting for a noir private detective. The call to remove Keuper was clever along with the non existant injury to Kadri. Kadri does a fantastic job mucking games up. Now they will be rested and it shows whoever that the backup is also ready to play. I guess we can argue depth blah blah blah but I believe the Oilers are just as talented however the Avs appear to have been playing chess better. The media jumped all over Kane trash talking the Avs bench almost like setting the table to suspend him for a game. It has actually been interesting to watch it all unfold.
