Think about the difference between what the playoffs mean to New Orleans compared to the Clippers. Clippers went to the Western Conference finals last year without Leonard and then got manhandled. This Suns team is even better than they were last year. NBA veterans know when they have a team that has a shot to make a run and when they dont. And we have seen the lack of motivation NBA players have when they dont have a shot at winning it all.
New Orleans is full of a decent amount of young players that havent had much playoff experience and CJ who is probably hungry to establish a better winning pattern in New Orleans. Plus New Orleans trending upward will help keep Zion interested which prior to the CJ trade looked like he might not want to play in New Orleans(still might not want to but at least showing up to games now)
Am I guessing on the covid excuse, yes but nba players are definitely big on hiding their true image and PG going down in a play in game definitely doesnt help his "playoff P" stigma that he has to deal with, so its not really a stretch here.

You can play in the NBA with HIV/AIDS as it is not an airborne transmitted disease. Do you understand the difference? Just because covid doesn't kill NBA players it doesn't mean it doesn't diminish their ability to play safely at full level. You can play sick like the NFL teams did last year when covid was running rampant and lose big because you don't have the same stamina or strength to run or block effectively.

it certainly made sense when there wasn’t a vaccine and our hospitals were totally full of Covid patients, so people with other problems, like heart attacks were dying outside. Now, we’re pretty much at herd immunity, the only people getting sick and dying are the small few who have not been vaccinated or had have Covid. So today, it makes no sense to test. If your sick, you’re sick. Move on. Just thank God you’re not in China where they literally are taping peoples doors so they can’t leave their houses. China dropped the ball on vaccines and are now having hell to pay. It’s ridiculous but serves them right for releasing this shit in the first place.
