Is it gamesmanship to not let the public know that the season is over and that a team is going to rest players?? Nobody is stupid enough to pull a Doug Pederson, but I'm sure some teams have no plans on making a winning game plan or playing their best players in Week 18. I have a strong feeling that Cincinnati, Minnesota, Carolina, and Green Bay will be resting players. You won't be able to tell if Carolina is resting players though because they are so bad. Tampa Bay might save something for the playoffs too.

Good stuff Rake. This will be a tough week picking straight up winners let alone ATS. Some teams don’t care about the last week at all. Not even the coaches.

Too much gamesmanship for me. I don't even know if Kirk Cousins is playing on Sunday yet and its Thursday because it is a meaningless game against the Bears. The Bears have already said Fields is not playing. How do you cap a game like that?

NBA is 30 minutes before tip off.
NFL is by 4pm the day before kickoff.
MLB I think (I need to double check) you can scratch your starting pitcher up to the point where lineup cards are exchanged.

Ive never seen teams give-up like they have this year, especially Giants, Jags and Panthers. I think it has to do with lame owners (especially Khan) who just want a better draft pick (they fully realize what moving up in the draft takes and would just rather lose), and I think Khan really enjoyed the spotlight of having the number one pick. He is an owner who knows nothing and but knows basic math. Covid only compounds all of this, with more excuses and more reasons to give-up....

Two things the NFL needs to change ASAP is that they need to implement a lottery system....If they had one in place this year, some of these teams would have been trying for the last three - five weeks, and you would have much more compelling week 18 games, for a number of reasons.

Change the PAT Rule and bring it back to a short kick. Nobody wants to talk about a kicker missing a PAT as the reason why some team is going home: it's just horrible -and unnecessary pressure...

You above your pay grade here, Gold. There's ways to protect yourself and takes plays off at the same time, let alone not go all out and protect yourself. For D lineman, hit, engage and nothing more...O lineman can let guys go by with little risk to themselves....Guys don't want to lose their jobs, but picking your spot is encouraged...

Looks like Cousins is playing Sunday. What a mess. Zimmer probably will be fired on Monday regardless of who plays on Sunday, win or lose.

After Golladay injury Sunday I can see Dallas NOT playing more starters than Philly. I'll take Minshew over anything Dallas calls a backup QB. Dallas does not do Backup QB well. Probably the worst.

Minny has played 95% of their games down to one score against the good teams and bad teams. Not surprised at all. That just means Minnesota is a bad team. No one else would lose to Cooper Rush. Nobody.

I don't think they can announce it because they still need to field 53 players on game day and they have injuries and covid players who can't play. This is not like preseason where they announce. They may decide to pull them out after a couple series but they are not going to announce it before the game.

Yes, guys are only listed as "active", could play the entire game or just a series. The 'mystery" that is Week 18...
