Should be 18 games with 2 bye weeks. Expand the active rosters to 60.

18 games means equal number of Home and Road games.

It is. 16 games is brutal enough. It's gone 6 to 8 to 10 to 12 to 14 to 16 which is perfect.

Not only that, no additonal bye week, but even worse, only ONE first round bye.

So if you're the 2nd in your conference, you play 17 weeks with one bye week and immediately go into a fuggin playoff game.

Between that, the taunting rules and terrible PI, it's like they are trying to tank their product.

Yep said 2 more weeks with 1 more game and 1 more bye. You can’t have an odd amount of games when every game carries so much weight.

I guess it is terrible decision for Tom because now someone is gonna break all his passing records.

As for fans and bettors like us it is great, more games to watch.

I love the NFL but the extra game was an awful decision. You can't say your all about player safety and then you add on an entire week of football and 2 extra playoff games. Injuries are already crazy. Wait until someone has a major injury during the last week of the season. It was perfect the way it was. No reason to change it. I haven't met one person who likes the change.

Lets not kid ourselves here, the most important thing for NFL owners is their bottom line (money), not player safety. That's why 17th game was added and by 2025 there will be an 18th game, possibly with 2 bye weeks. So we are talking about the possibility of 20 week long NFL season in the near future. Imagine the extra revenue for NFL owners and the sportsbooks.

They actually had this one year. I can't remember when but I think late 90s or early 2000s. It only lasted 1 season if I remember correctly .

Since it started, Thursday night games brought nothing but complaints and bitching from players. What did they do about it? Nothing. A 17th game will be treated the same way. The players have enough power to effect change and they never use it.
