NFL Preseasons lack of domination and explosiveness
If most of the players playing in preseason games won't make a team why are there never any dominating individual performances in any of the games?? Seems like there would be someone who could rush for 100 yards, get 100 yard receiving, or pass for 300 yards against guys who supposedly will be working for UPS when the season starts. And even if you don't play an entire game if the players are not NFL caliber there should still be someone who should be able to dominate a game who will make the final cut.

Because skill position players are the hardest to find. So you've basically got above average college players against all conference defense players.

That makes sense. But there has to be someone who can make somebody miss some tackles and be a game breaker. Preseason is on the XFL level of offense and it should be at least watchable. Even Justin Fields can’t make the future UPS guys look bad and miss.

It is XFL level. The dropoff is steep.

They should just get rid of it

Maybe go with an 18 game schedule no preseason

They didn't even use to show exhibition games on TV. You might watch one on tape delay.

The defensive players also get a lot better than the offensive players. Most of the guys have been trying a couple of years to make a roster so they are much better than they were their first year. The offensive guys do not get as much chance to make a roster so the defensive players are a lot more developed.

ALL the defensive players look like ALL PROS in preseason. That is the scary part.

Well they are all borderline NFL players and capable of stepping into an NFL defense. The offensive players are not anywhere close to that.

The tackling in preseason is better than the tackling in the regular season. Preseason tackling is on a playoff game level.

They are NFL players. You take these guys with talent and have them get NFL defensive training and they are better than All-Americans. That is why there is a huge difference between college and NFL.
