NHL has become a joke... why let a team 20 mill over the cap play?

They did trade and draft well. Doesn't take away the fact the roster they are icing is almost 20 million over the cap.

Like multiple players have said from other teams, they didn't lose to an equal opponent. They lost to a team way over the cap.

NHL has become a joke honestly.

This stuff is supposed to be for entertainment and is just a "game". How it ended up with these guys making 30 mill a year while the avg. salary is 40K? I talked to my neighbor the other day. He's old. He said the old ballplayers might've made about 25-50% more on average than their salaries. Now, it's what? 4 hundred thousand % higher?

Islanders were over 7 million over the cap, Michael had surgery so he didn't count against the cap, the teams that spend the most money are usually losers, look at the Phillies, Angels, rangers

You just compared hockey salary cap to mlb teams. And not only that you said the teams that spend the most Phillies and angels are losers. 3 of the top 6 spenders are in first or 1-2 games out of first. The Phillies are four games out of the nl east.
As for the rangers, I’m hopefully assuming you meant the hockey team since this thread is related to hockey, well they are in the middle of the pack in spending.
Basically your points make no sense and have no solid evidence to verify your wild pull from the clouds claim

              What cap? Doesn't exist.

And get if right, even if you're completely wrong. Kucherov's salary puts them 9.5 million over the regular season cap, not almost 20. Players on LTIR don't count, just as they don't for every other team in the league.

The Blackhawks did the same thing with Patrick Kane in 2015, beating the Lightning to win the Cup. That offseason the NHL voted on whether to change the cap rules to close the "Kane Loophole" and all but two teams voted against changing the rule. The only 2 that voted for were the Blues and the Lightning. So unless you're a Blues fan, the blame resides with your team. Own it.

You as usual missed the point. Kicherov didn’t count against the cap either since the missed the whole regular season.

                  Exactly, Kucherov had surgery.

Then you should have just said that. The evidence and secondary points you tried to make were riddled with bad information therefore making your initial point lost in the garbage

Good grief. No one in the world cares about a salary cap and someone actually thinks it's a topic. It's sports. Who cares how much anyone makes.
The Yanks havent won a title in 12 years. The Mets in what? 30.
Salary cap nonsense. 2nd and 3rd highest payroll. No one cares.
All that matters is how you perform.
Tampa Bay Lightning is best run organization of all 4 sports.
