Laker, the stories of NHL players playing thru injury are legendary.

Remember when Derrick Rose talked himself into being a full-fledged pu$$y?

Laker, I'll be honest. Had to look it up.

My hockey knowledge mostly mirrors the Gretzky era. 1980 to 2000, I know very well.

I'm not Canadian blood. So, I guess that's an excuse.

That was a great era though. NHL guys are extremely tough. It's that mentality. They just assume you have to play. It's like a guy who has a cold . Just get up and go to work.

Wouldn't be surprised if Stone had a broken hand as well. Guy was avoiding all contact.

Kevin McHale played thru a broken foot. Doctors advised him to shut it down, but he chose to play. Supposedly still carries a limp from the damage done. Gotta give him props for that.

NHL athletes are some of the most humble and dedicated. Brent Gilchrist played thru significant injuries. Bobby Orr played recklessly, accumulated 30 yrs of injuries in 10 yrs. Paul Kariya came back from being knocked out, scored a goal in the Cup finals. The hockey player stories go on and on.

                          So what's up with this?

The knew it was broken and didn't disclose the injury?

I don't mind that he played, but these types of after the fact disclosures are frowned upon in my circles.

In some sports it's downright against the rules and fines can be handed down. Injury reports are for the bettors. There's a code that everyone's supposed to honor here.

Let's be honest though. It's a circle jerk. Teams are playing games with the opposite team. The leagues are supposed to make sure things go according to plan. Now why aren't the knights being fined big time?

In the NFL there might have been repercussions.

Not sure what NHL will do. It's possible he played with a break that didn't effect him at all.

In that case no disclosure necessary and this after story is just bullshit...that's the most common thing in these cases. Media thinks it's a bigger deal than it is and the doctors signed off and never listed it because it wasn't a big deal.

So who knows. As far as mind games, I don't really think that's very effective, there all pros here.
