    Portland Series -105
Blazers lost 3 games in a row from april 20-23rd... first 2 by 1 point and the 3rd game by 2 vs mem. then played mem again at home and lost by 7. ever since then... starting april 27 the blazers have gone 10-2 and the 2nd loss was to PHX by ONE.

they went 5-1 on a road trip to start the hot streak. Should have beat PHX but wrong guy got fouled to shoot free throws late with Portland up 1.

they lost to the nuggets by 1 during that 3 game stretch of losses by 1 and 2 pts.

they lost to the nuggets earlier in the season by 5 (tied going into 4th) but Jokic scored 41 to do it and Murray had 24 and Portland didn't have CJ and hadn't traded for Powell yet.

    Portland wins this series

It's a tough call... Portland may have a backcourt advantage, but they don't match up well with Gordon or Porter Jr, and that's assuming they can somewhat neutralize Jokic with their two bigs. Plus Barton, Morris, Dozier and Campazzo aren't total scrubs, they just aren't the caliber of player Murray is. And don't forget Austin Rivers has given the Nuggets valuable minutes off the bench since they acquired him.

I think the Blazers survive and win the series but it's gonna come down to those 4th quarter moments in a tight ballgame when Lillard decides to randomly jack one up from the logo... they're either gonna equate to stealing points in crunch-time or wasted possessions.

I like the way they finished the season. Played with heart and tightened up their defense.

Let's take a hard look at that portland roster, shall we?

                        Damian Lillard 28 4 4 162 26 70 14 38 23 26 2 17 19 34 3 0 18 9 89 .371 .368 .885 40.6 22.3 4.8 8.5 0.8 0.0

Myers Leonard and Harkless were playing the 3rd and 4th most minutes on the roster.

                        Lmfao.

Basketball is all about players and the roster. It matters more than anything else. It's the only reason your boy Lebron has 4 rings, always has one of the best rosters.

Does Portland have the best roster? No, but they're pretty close. They're missing one major superstar piece. But they have the 3rd best roster in the western conference after the clippers and lakers. Nuggets would have a top tier roster if they had Jamal Murray healthy. You don't replace one of the best pgs in the nba with a bum rookie who barely sniffed an nba court.

                        What does this look like?

Who cares. Dozier wouldn't even crack Portland's 8 man playoff rotation. He's a possible starter on Denver when healthy. Enough said.

crisp passing, smooth shooting... know who's taking the big shots if its real tight late in games... great game 1 portland
