That saying, "you get what you paid for" is false for the offense. They paid too much for the position players to leave players on base. Tommy Pham, that guy needs to get released. I was watching that game. Yeah, that was horrible. But it was even worse to be up 3 and never get an out before losing in extra innings. I wonder why you don't put Wheeler or Eflin in for that one inning at the end when the other alternative is a batting-practice fool. They blew 2 saves of 2 runs or more.

This is exactly why I could never bet more than a few hundred max per regular season game no matter how much I like it. Or, not even bet at all......

I've been burned by many similar games to this one. I had under in mets game few weeks back for first 5 innings. They rally with 2 outs and get a 3 run homerun from Carpenter and take it over. I think I've lost 3-4 games on a last out when nobody was on base.

The Padres are playing great ball lately, 9 in a row, 9 out of the L10, 11 out of the L12
31 runs scored in this series vs. the mariners, only gave up 1 run vs. the Rockies, so their pitching did well.
then scored 23 vs. cards, all at home.

Lets see how they do on this upcoming 10 game road trip

Seems like when the Dodgers swooped in at the last minute and took Scherzer away from the Padres, that was when their season ended.
Padres have only won 8 of their last 28 games, and at this point with their remaining schedule? will be fortunate to finish above .500
