they probably don't want to lose concession $$$ so they rather reschedule than move the game up and have less people than anticipated.Comment -
If you did move the game up, you’d have to refund most purchased tickets. Plus you need agreement from broadcast channels, etc.
As “good” as weather predictions have become, they usually aren’t great many days in advance.
So they would rather go with a rain delay or even a PPD in a worst case scenario.Comment -

6:40 game time. I guess it might be dry for a half hour and then downpour. No chance they get in more than a couple innings before a long delay. Might as well delay from the start. If they don't, I think you gotta plan for a bullpen game. In fact, if I was the manager and they started on time at 6:40, I'd switch the starter to a reliever planning an inning or two and then go to the real starter after the delay. Doesn't look like it's going to be light to me. Looks like a short, but heavy one coming through. I say 0% chance they get it all in without delay. But they should be able to play dry by about 9:30p. They might be able to start at 6:40, but if they do they won't get in more than an inning or two before the deluge.Comment -
