It's not a bad deal for the Rams... Stafford's age is irrelevant, this is a move to get back to the SB now rather than later. Both the Rams and Stafford have a similar window with which to get this done so it makes sense. Don't underestimate Stafford in this situation, he's never had the luxury of a team who played any defense, much less at an elite level.

Good trade for Rams. They were going nowhere with Goff

Stafford gives them much better chance

Goff’s bad days outnumbered his good days. When the coach is telling you the defense and where to throw it and when you can’t consistently do that then the team has a much lesser chance of winning consistently. When Goff is bad there is no chance for Rams to win. Stafford might not be better, but not many can be worse than a bad Goff. This boils down to how bad Goff is, not how good Stafford is.

Getting from under Goff’s contract is the main reason for this deal. The Rams paid top dollar for a below average QB. That’s a killer

This guy must have good pr because he’s never won a playoff game but we talk about him like he’s a top 10 quarterback. Maybe he is as I wouldn’t be caught dead watching the lions play.

They might both do better in a different setting.

Bigger ? Is does Stafford fit the Rams offense better?

Stafford was never going to win in Detroit.

2 1st round picks + additional is huge

No excuse for the Lions to have someone like Stafford... who makes what he does.... and can't even produce a winning record... this should of been done like 2 years ago.

Yes, we are all NFL gm's. Armchair-jockeys.

FWIW, I think the Stafford will make the Rams look great next two years. Guy has a huge arm.

The Lions did alright in this trade, people keep saying Stafford just needs weapons? Just more bullshit excuses as usual. I still remember 2013 where he lost them seven of their last eight blowing the division. That was back when Megatron was still in house.

agreed, Lions did fine since they basically need a complete roster overhaul anyway especially on defense. and if they can flip Goff even for a decent mid-round draft pick, they'll have won the trade by a wide margin. the biggest issue going fwd for the Lions is to have the right GM and scouting dept in place to spend these draft picks wisely.

The Rams do play the lions in the 21-22 regular season. It definitely won’t be in the NFC championship game.

True enough it's one thing to give a team a bunch of solid draft capital. However if you dont know what your doing you've f@cked it.
