#13It will be interesting to see exactly what Urban Meyer does in the NFL...you guys are quick to bury him but let's not forget it was Urban Meyer and Rich Rodiguez that were the innovators of the "spread" offense that the vast majority of college football teams run today...say what you want, but a big part of the reason of why Lamar Jackson is successful in the NFL (so far) is because of the RPO packages the Ravens utilize...Again, Urban Meyer has been successful and won everywhere he's been at in at including Bowling Green and Utah!...at this point and time, what does Jacksonville have to lose?...they've been irrelevant for so long with retread former coaches like Tom Coughlin, Jack Del Rio, Gus Bradley, Doug Marrone, etc!...all of them finishing below .500 for their careers with the exception of Coughlin who was 68 - 60 and that's nothing to brag about...Meyer is an established head coach who has already proven himself at the collegiate level...why not take a chance on him?...win-win situation for both parties...Comment -

#17Wrong again...He and Rodriguez were the first coaches in Division I-A to run that type of offense...it's the very reason why the Mountaineers were so successful when Rich Rod was their head coach....and now because of their success, most college teams run some variation of it.Comment -

#21Why is he finishing 6-9? Covid issues cancelling games?
It's the wrong hire for the opportunity they have...especially on a rookie QB deal.Comment -

#22Urban won’t duplicate what Marrone did 3 years ago in his 1st 5 years. No AFC championship game for Urban, and there will be no MAC or Funbelt teams on the schedule either. Matt Rhule will do better than Urban Meyer and Rhule is not that good.Comment -

#24Amazing how much better a coach’s perception of how great he is gets for sitting out a few years. Mike Mccarthy and Jon Gruden come to mind. Bill Cowher would go undefeated today he has been out so longComment -

#30totally different offenses you dipshit...they run the triple option...which is a variant of the old wishbone offense that Barry Switzer used to run at Oklahoma...the read option offense as we know it today where the QB is lined up in the shotgun on every play and has a RB right next to him and A) either gives him the ball B) pulls it out and runs for himself or C) pulls it out and then drops back to pass was revolutionized by both Urban Meyer and Rich Rodriguez.Comment -

#31With Meyer at coach and Lawrence at QB week 1 regular season for JAGS this triggers an auto-play for me week 1 with the Jags game. only thing that could change it is if they play another team that may potentially tank next season.
Should be an easy play... writing this down in my notes for the 2021 season to make sure I don't forgot about it.
also, Meyer will be out within 3 seasonsComment -
