Beating the same NFL team 3 times in one year is difficult.....Or is it??
    Off of reddit.....

Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, there have been 21 times that teams met in the playoffs with a 3-game sweep on the line.

But, when those teams meet for the 3-game sweep, what happens? The sweep happens 67% of the time!

Here is the history of possible 3-game sweep playoff games:

    Year Team Opponent Playoff Result
    2017 Saints Panthers Win
    2009 Cowboys Eagles Win
    2008 Steelers Ravens Win
    2007 Cowboys Giants Lose
    2004 Packers Vikings Lose
    2004 Rams Seahawks Win
    2002 Steelers Browns Win
    2000 Giants Eagles Win
    1999 Titans Jaguars Win
    1998 Cowboys Cardinals Lose
    1997 Packers Buccaneeers Win
    1997 Patriots Dolphins Win
    1994 Steelers Browns Win
    1994 Vikings Bears Lose
    1993 Raiders Broncos Win
    1992 Chiefs Chargers Lose
    1991 Chiefs Raiders Win
    1989 Oilers Steelers Lose
    1986 Giants Redskins Win
    1983 Seahawks Raiders Lose
    1982 Dolphins Jets Win

Already priced in IMO. Steelers and Browns split the regular season games though so what is this referring to anyway ?

Yep, one of the most over used and incorrect statements out there.

I think it originated with coach speak. In looking ahead to a third matchup of a team they know they can beat, they say that so they don't provide bulletin board material or let their players get complacent

In soccer sometimes you play the same team 5 times in a season in different competitions.
