What rule was broken? Hitting the ball like that or the fact that it connected with someone?

If it had hit the wall one foot to the left, missing the broad, would he be DQ'd?

Not being political here and this is purely a gambling karma statement by me.The way this year is going and BLM why not bet Francis Tiafoe to beat Medvedev at +850?? Nothing surprises me this year with life and why not throw a flyer on him.Medvedev obviously gonna realize its his to lose now with joker and Tsitsipas out,he might feel the presuure.Were all about money here at SBR first and foremost.Francis for the win!

When I first heard that Djokovic got disqualified, I thought he must have launched a rocket at a linesperson's neck in anger or something...

After watching the video, it looks like he simply passed the ball behind his back after a completed service game in a non-chalant way (while already walking towards his chair) and it just so happened the ball accidentally struck a female line judge in the neck.

What bullshit DQ!

Most likely the right call was made. Purely accidental and unintentional but rules are rules.
They have been consistent in the past as well.

At least he was completely remorseful and accepted the decision without argument. Apologising afterwards

Have no problem with him not taking questions from the press afterwards because fuc k the media who are probably going to milk the situation months later...

I don’t think any further sanctioning is required outside of the points and prize money which he won’t get for this appearance.

Players do what Djokovic did millions of times which don’t hit lines people.

As two of his fellow players in Zverev and his opponent Busta have said it was unlucky. Which is accurate

If you had a future on anyone else, this was a huge win. Djokovic wasn't going to lose + you were getting some great numbers cause he was in the field. That's basically what you are hoping for when you take anyone else, that Joker Falls...Now you got a chance.

Sounds reasonable & Foe down to +735 but I just don't trust him to do anything in a tourney unless his opponents are injured (2019 AO got to the QF by beating an injured Dimitrov & Anderson & 2018 won Delray against a hobbled Gojowczyk) & Medv. seams relatively healthy. My best bets for today are Serena @ -190 (after crushing Sloane I don't see her losing before the Final or if at all) & my best dog is Rublev at +115. Never seem him serve like this b4 & he has the best FH left in the draw. Also not not too bad to get him @ 20-1 to win it all.

This woman was ridiculous. She acted like she got hit in neck with baseball bat not a tennis ball. But a female is never going to miss an opportunity to get rich. If lines person was a male he would have moved his head and smiled and Novak would have shrugged and smiled at the lines person and the announcer would have laughed and that would be that.
I can’t believe espn kept trying to compare this incident to the shit Serena pulled against Osaka.
