Keep in mind they also have one of the toughest jobs too.
              Soccer probably the easiest

Laser beams for balls and strikes ASAP.

I don't mind when Umps establish the strike zone, i just hate when they are inconsistent

And i hate when the pitcher misses location and the catcher reaches across the zone to catch the pitch and the pitch still is in the zone but the ump calls a ball. Their job is to watch the ball, not watch the catcher.

One of the most annoying parts of baseball is when a pitcher misses his location but manages a strike but the umpire refuses to call it one.

remember folks, it's were the ball crosses the plate, not where the catcher frames it. Just an opinion....there are a lot of missed calls though, tough at 95 mph to get every pitch within a 1/4 inch.

you are right but too many way outside the zone are blown. i know its human error but with tech as it is it can be eliminated. fairer all around.

This has always been happening. The technology has evolved, and now it is exposing the inconsistency that has actually always been there.

It's intentional to make the games more intersting and draw attention from fans. MLB likes it.
