Seems to me he's qualified enough.
Having former head coaching experience isn't the only criteria for becoming a head coach.

I don't think the Chase Manhattan analogy is a fair one here, but I do see your point nevertheless.

Nash bitched out when he became a Laker and stole the money. As Coach trying to coach superstars he'll get run over and bitch out again and steal that money also if it's a guaranteed contract.. He'll get fired after the first year.

He also has very little coaching experience as stated in above posts. This is like Magic Johnson trying to become the Laker coach years ago..Complete fail project!!

You need coaching experience, college coaching experience, assistance coach experience under some of the greats first to become a solid NBA coach IMO.. Steve Nash has none of these on his resume..

Putting up with at least 2 drama queens does not seem appealing to me.
He will have to hire some great assitents.

Of course they are already bitching because they didn’t hire a black guy....for fukks sake these complainers need to man up and grow a fukking pair.

Derek Fisher and Jason Kidd both got hired with no experience.....

Yah, there's actually people out there that believe BLM is just about the police.

This would be a tough job for anyone but with no experience and the toxic racial climate this hiring is moribund

Like I said (well almost said) I don't think I've seen the word moribund used like that which is why I brought it up.

“It’s ridiculous,” one Western Conference coachtold HoopsHype. “It’s just nearly impossible to be prepared without any coaching experience, especially for a team with championship expectations. They’ve got a two-year window. Lue was the obvious choice for me. They may prove me wrong, but I wouldn’t have done it myself. Just surprised to see a total unknown when you’ve got that short of a window.”

Ahahaha that's blatantly Doc Rivers. What a slimeball. Doesn't have the guts to go on the record with it.

Ty Lue couldn't handle the stress of coaching a championship contender. Heart problems.

    Obviously Doc for sure.
Who else could have said that? I mean Lue sits right next to Doc on the Clippers bench as his assistant.
    Yeesh

And yes Lue would have been a terrible hire for Brooklyn.
He couldn't handle a city like Cleveland, what make one think he can handle New York City.
Tougher men have melted under the bright lights of New York City.

I'm personally rooting hard for Nash.
That team has tons of potential, KD, Kyrie, Allen (the best center even though some consider him a PF in the NBA that nobody speaks about, he's not Jokic or Gobert good, but know this Allen is a beast) then you got Dwindle coming back.

Nets must sign sharp shooter Joe Harris.
He's to the Nets what Ingles is to Utah.
Harris is tough as nails too.

Interest year 2021 will be for Brooklyn.

Could the Nets afford to pay the fines to keep Kyrie and KD away from the media all season?

that team will make the finals on pure talent alone. no X's and O's needed. 4 years is plenty for my uncle Steve Nash to build identity and blossom.

Shame on me, I forgot to mention Levert too.

If they get Harris back with Levert, KD, Kyrie, Dinwiddle, The 'fro Allen in the pivot, that team could go places.
Thing is can Nash and his staff get them playing as a solid unit. Kyrie can be a baby at times.

You think kd and Kyrie can co-exist? I’m not sure how long they will be able to make that work. Who is the leader of this team?

Durant is the unquestioned leader. Irving tried it in Boston and gained a greater appreciation for the task. He will bow to Durant.

This is Caris Levert's team, nobody has ever been a star player after tearing an achilles.

"Total Unknown" - LOL - He's a freakin' Hall of Famer! I'm sure he knows a bit about basketball. I hate that Nash has to apologize for his "white privilege" landing him this gig.

Did he really have to apologise though? Couldn't someone for once show some backbone? Just say I'm a white b2b MVP in a league that was 85% black. All his accomplishments coming in spite of substandard athleticism & size -doesn't need to worry about size & athleticism anymore.

I've actually come around to thinking it's a good hire albeit for a tough job. He will hire the best assistants as Kerr & Bird did...

All this pandering to the complainers has a snowball effect. Puts more pressure on the next man to toe the line, and the next, and the next...
