    I hope you're wrong JJ

No reason for them to even begin if they dont plan to play through any infections because we all know its going to happen

At this point I'm just hoping we don't lose the Hoops season.

Putting fans in the gyms is a long way off still.

Don't know if NFL will complete its season but this easily will not hit. NFL has bye weeks and if smart enough will alter the schedule of teams to easily past week 5.

I hate to say it but I agree with JJ. Without a bubble the NFL will be a cluster. The NHL, NBA and WNBA all have bubbles and NOT ONE case of Covid. This is not rocket science. You have to have a bubble. Hell, the US should have bubble wrapped months ago. 2 to 3 weeks of bubbling up would have kicked Covid ass.

First of all, if the College Season is shut down, and apparently it will be, that will give the NFL many open Saturday dates to try and dance around the Covid-19 problems. They also need just 9 games to be played to have playoff and Superbowl games. Play each Division rival home and away for a total of 6 games, and then play each conference rival with the same divisional finish (1,2,3,4) once. Thus, the Washington "we have no nickname as of yet" would play the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants twice and the Cardinals, Lions, and Panthers once.

Not a bad point BigDaddy except even just open saturday dates have to really be open extra weeks.

I'm not sure the Playera Assoc is going to allow too many games per week but they will need extra weeks tacked on to fill gaps. A lot of details to deal with, including the shortened season you mention.

Hopefully if they can just get to practicing and start the season, the nationwide COVID situation will improve towards winter.

    Hopefully.

The NFL isn't going to make it to Week 1; there's no social distancing in football.

I don’t see a path forward unless they all sign contract waivers on health. Most are broke as hell and need that game check so it should happen. NFL doesn’t want a bunch of these guys coming 25 year later suing for corona health related issues like concussions.

On the bright side you will save some money by not being buried every week.
