#2Good luck with that, seems like cases are spiking everywhere and some hospitals starting to fill up quick.
Idea of fans sound sexy now, but we’re looking at localized shut downs in the near future, so that idea could get scrapped quick.

#3Saw that too. League won't have a "one size fits all" approach to how teams handle their home games. In theory, could be true home field advantages this year in certain citiesComment -

#9What numbers?
Not at all and not even close to your label. Don't be offended, but I don't think you know what's real and what isn't. You have me wrong, for sure.
There are upticks in cases and our local hospitasl had a dramatic increase, suddenly. That is real. I know it is real and you are a fool to not believe it. If you don't believe, then be offended because you would be a fool.
My ultimate fear is the overreaction that causes broader shutdowns, especially when it comes to sports since it is my business. As NFL teams can be in highly populated areas that there could be incentive to shut down thousand of fans.
It doesn't matter whether numbers are real or not, or whether you believe there is a contagion, it only matters if they decide to not allow 1000s of people in an arena.
A lot can change over the next few weeks, but clearly are first wave is yet to come in many areas so it may not change for the better.Comment -

The league is considering requiring fans who attend come to games this fall to sign a liability waiver as preemptive protection against lawsuits claiming coronavirus was contracted in the stands, according to a report by The Athletic.
Some teams, including the Giants and Jets, told season-ticket holders they can skip the 2020 season and get a refund or credit for any payments already submitted. They still would hold priority for renewing season tickets in 2021.
But the NFL wants to draw fans and operate as close to normal as possible, leaving it to teams to develop plans in accordance with state and local regulations for managing crowds. It is not known how teams would screen for COVID-19, but the report said an electronic questionnaire is more likely than turnstile temperature checks.
This is unlike colleges that faced a recent avalanche of criticism for asking student-athletes to sign waivers as a form of education and a pledge to be responsible. Fans have the choice to stay away or assume known risk coming through the gates, and the primary purpose of the waiver would be absolving the league of responsibility.Comment -

#20The key is resolving the liability question. You won’t see fans in most venues unless their are waivers of liability or liability issues are dealt with in the fourth stimulus bill.Comment -

#27Yep. I really don't see how the NFL or MLB even start, and although NBA is a only a month out from the scheduled restart, there's going to be some major hiccups, and they could possibly still cancel between now and the 31st. College ball is an even greater longshot, it's gonna take a miracle for them to proceed.Comment -
