    Quick Question RE: SBR's Sportsbook

Heh, I only found out tonight that SBR has a sportsbook.

I'm trying to open an account but no matter what information I give on the registration page for my Username, Password and Email it always tells me, "There is already an account with that username or email."

That remains true even when I input data that's definitely new to the SBR System.

Can anybody help me get un-stuck and registered? If so, then the next round's definitely on me!

I managed to get registered, but now I have another incredibly stupid question: how do I deposit?

Usually books have the deposit button flashing at you from everywhere but I'm actually having trouble finding it.

Again, any help anyone can offer definitely means I owe you a beer.

You can only wager with bet points (since you're not pro, it's not worth anything). When you login, you click the blue transfer button and you enter how many bet points you want to transfer from your wallet to the book.

You use the same username and login info for the SBR Book as you do for the forum.

If you somehow now have a different login for the book, then please contact Genie and ask her to close your second account.

Once logged into the SBR Book, click the Transfer button to add points to your account to bet with.

There is also a Newbie forum. You may find helpful info there to assist you.

Thanks, Sam, and it's good to see you again. Once upon a time was your av a car of some kind or do I have that mixed up?

In any event, how the hell did you get a picture of me to be your current av???

I'm totally happy to go "pro." If I do, do betpoints gain any kind of monetary value (I dk, maybe as a dodge around some gaming law, SBR's book had to change dollars to "betpoints," or something?)

EDIT: Heh, I was unable to use my Bitpay card to make my hundred buck donation to Make a Wish. There's gotta be a joke about irony in there somewhere.

Oh sorry, I'll get that fixed up. This might be a really dumb question, but how do I contact Genie, again? Thanks, Opti.

You can get a loan for betpoints. But first you have to turn Pro ($100 charity donation). Then if you get busted at the book posters will give you loans if you are a good payer.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I did enter my application for going Pro today; it says I should hear back in a few days.

If I could bother you for just one more key question, it's this: can the SBR sportsbook, in any direct or roundabout way -- betpoints or whatever -- be played for actual money or is this really just about Betpoints for merch? Apologies in advance if that's a dumb question; I didn't even know SBR HAD a sportsbook till last night.

Biggest advantage is the betpoints can be redeemed for Bitcoin. There's also a ton of contests throughout the year to earn points and cash. Assuming there's an NFL season, the big football handicapping contest should be coming up.

Thanks, my friend. At the risk of continuing to be a bother, I've got a couple quick follow ups:

    1. Can you give me some idea as to that exchange rate? I mean, how much BTC would, say, 1k Betpoints get a guy?

    2. If a person wanted to hurry their accumulation of Betpoints so their sportsbook bets could constitute real dollar values, is there really no way to make a deposit and just buy them?

Columbia '08, but as a general rule you're correct: I am a very, very stupid human being.

Still, I appreciate the link, if not the sentiment.

Can't buy, can only earn. $50= 1333 pts. $100=2666 pts, etc.

If you are in the US you can convert the points to bitcoins. I convert my betpoints to bitcoins then cash using coinbase then deposit to books. If you are Canadian or other country I think you can order sportsbook cash from store. Ask SBR Genie. She knows all the rules.
