According to the Commissioner, he has the authority to arbitrarily declare a start date,
but he wants an agreement so he has held off.
I would have declared a start date a MONTH ago. I hope he doesn't back down; this BS
has gone on entirely too long.

The Major League Baseball Players Association has rejected MLB's latest proposal and will not counter, sources tell ESPN. In a letter to the league, the union asked MLB to inform it of how many games it intends to play and when players should report.

Evidently there's a provision for a 48 game season, absolutely non contestable and players get 100% pro rated money.
Up to the owners if they want that or not.

Yeah, something like 48-54 games and they go with the agreement in March.
As far as a deadline, neither side has any power to impose any deadline, in actuality.
The issue is that the want to finish the regular season by Sept. 27th so the postseason doesn't go into November.
They will still need "spring" training. So time is a factor but there's no deadline per se.

But the money the NFL brings to the markets spill over so without that the opportunities seem to just be less. All we can hope is that with less sports, the action concentrates, and the Contrarian Funds benefit from it.
When it comes to NBA and MLB, it's a good portion of revenue for me, I could use them.
Hopefully they tell everyone there's a vaccine and 2021 is a normal year.

I want to clarify that I don't always win and not every year. But those sports that are revenue for me pay off enough over seasons.
I would hate to lose those cows. But losing things like March Madness is just as, if not more costly, to me than full seasons of some sports.
