    Quick COVID update.
As Booya requested: A short synopsis so you can get back to protesting.

2 million cases and 112,000 deaths in about 3 months!
US has 28% of the world deaths. A caveat "reported deaths". Some countries death total/cases are unrealistic.
Of the more than 140 countries for which data is available, the U.S. figure for deaths per 100,000 people as of May 11 was 11th highest.
The US has ramped up testing to 63k/million and is accelerating rapidly. Late, but now the increase is out pacing most of the world.
This reflects the high number of cases.
After the limited reopening there hasn't been a real spike and that is great. I fear in a few weeks the protests may result in a significant rise.
An inauspicious milestone but things were expected to be worse, so "good news"?
I'm hoping people don't completely let their guard down and think it's gone away, as it may never leave us.

    Stay safe.

Covid has been over for a while. The fact is it was all exaggerated and unless you're in your 80s or 90s, your chances of dying from it are slim to none.

COVID is not over but most people are over it. I would say that's a big difference but then again, maybe it's only perception that matters

Only people affected by it care anymore. Everybody else has long moved on. On to the next human crisis.

If indeed its 112k dead, then there has been very little interest in the 12k dead that have occurred since the number hit 100k. Reporting and frequency of cases and deaths has change since it hit 100k. It seems like the numbers no longer matter anymore. It's just not a big deal anymore. Even when it gets to 200k it will never have the same effect as when it started in March 2020

We are only 3 months into this pandemic and 2 million Americans have been infected. That isn't an exaggeration, it's a fact.
The effect has been devastating to the economy and to lifestyles. That is also a fact. As I stated before, we've only just begun.

Sorry maybe it's different in the US than Canada. But in my province there have been 145 deaths out of 13 million people. Average age of death is 84.

The death rate of people under 70 is 0.006%.

It's basically over, every one has stopped caring and deaths have not gone up much at all.

I agree that nursing homes are the problem everywhere. A sad situation.
I was unaware Alberta had 13 million people?

4.4 million. It's an exaggeration I just think this whole thing is ridiculous.

It's been spiking here in Florida the last few days.

I imagine it getting much worse since we just started phase 2.

Bazil has the answer: They are going to stop posting any statistics about COVID19, they beat Trump to the punch.
Now all will be good there and it will go away.

Now all will be good there and it will go away.
It sure seems that way. The numbers used to change during the day, multiple times a day. Now its once a day at 10am in my state. So its like the numbers are not moving at all despite known new cases. Its the classic move the goalpost strategy. Now we get 7 day averages versus daily updates.
