wonder how player rankings will change or if they will freeze the point system as well, since players can't defend their points

French Open is at the end of May so if the amount of new cases doesnt spike we could see some tennis outside of the six weeks.
Outside of Italy it's actually not as deadly as it's being made out to be. 10 deaths in Europe and nine of those in Spain and France. And those countries have the biggest populations in Europe.

You could probably get away with hosting the Monte Carlo Masters considering the unlikeliness of things spreading there.

Uh, Spain has 191 deaths, including 58 yesterday. The number of cases are exploding everywhere - over 10k new cases yesterday, compared to 3.5k a week before, and 1.4k two weeks ago (and those are just those who have been tested, several govts think the number of actual infections are 10x greater).

    only 6?

let's play it safe and make it 60 weeks to be sure, just in time for another sars/ebola/flu/corona/foot fungus to come around and start the cycle again

more people are dying in car crashes going to the grocery store to stock up on toilet paper than will ever die from the virus

Ok, deep breath. The last Ebola outbreak infected about 4000 people. It killed a lot of them, but was containable.

This isn't containable. We had ten thousand new cases yesterday. In a week that figure will be 20k, 30k, who knows.

Best case scenario: this infects 15% of the world population, which has been typical of the worst flu pandemics. Of those, 1% die. That's 11 million deaths.

More realistically, we have no immunity so it will infect more - governments are expecting a midpoint scenario of 60%. The death rate then also explodes, because health systems get overwhelmed with vast numbers of patients needing intensive care. In Italy it's at 7%, Spain 4%. But let's say we learn quickly, improve treatment etc, and keep it to 2%. That's 90 million deaths.

    Treat this more seriously, please.

Is this funny? The UK govt is expecting 80% infection rates:

    Merkel said something similar, 70%:

Again, please treat this more seriously.

I know hey, one percent of one percent of the population has it, and even when that peaks over the next two weeks even with lock downs it'll probably still be that.
