In terms of pro prospects and recruiting rankings, Ohio State has much more overall talent especially on defense. I think Clemson does the most out of any team in the country to maximize the talent that they have though. Isaiah Simmons was a 3* recruit and now he is a Butkus award winner for Clemson. Dabo is amazing at playing the underdog angle with all his players (and you can sure bet he's preaching how they were defending champions to start the season #1 and now they've dropped to #3), and their players just play smart football.

On offense, Clemson's talent is very comparable to OSU's. Lawrence, Higgins, Ross are all 5 star recruits and future high NFL draft picks. Etienne was a borderline 3*/4* recruit but probably a 1st day pick. On their OL, Jackson Carman was a 5 star. OL is mostly about player development anyways though.

Recruiting isn't an exact science either. Theres many 5* players that turn out to be really average players.

I'm just going off what I see when I watch the teams play. Ohio State does have a really good team but when I look at teams like Alabama, Clemson, and LSU....their players overall just look bigger, stronger, and faster.

At least we have a playoff and we get to find out. If it was the BCS, Clemson wouldn't even have a chance. To me, Clemson has earned enough street cred.
