    Said this all winter

    Can get the 30 hrs, 95 rbi and .265 average by platooning 2 guys for a combined $2mm

    Spend all the saved money on pitching, pitching wins!!

    Same w Twins, dump Mauer (.285, 10, 70) and get .285, 30, 100 for literally $20mm less per year. Allowed them to sign a 4th and 5th starter.

    He’s been hot since the All Star Break, and even won a few games for the Phils. Feel like he’s finally just trying to make solid contact rather than trying to knock each pitch out of the park. Love how he hustles on the bases and in the field. Wish that would transfer to some of the other Phil’s players like Segura and Franco.

    Hard to argue. I agree you can platoon and spread the money around. Pitching wins. Period. Bats can be really hot/cold at the right or wrong times.

    Harper has been hype for along time. Is anyone worth that kind of money? Is there one huge long term deal like that where the player worked out for the duration of the deal? Tigers fan and we are getting creamed with Miggy deal.

    To be honest I don’t understand why Harper even got the big deal. He has appeared semi above average or average last few seasons. Nowhere near his first couple years.

    Machado I understood, Harper I did not. Waste of money and just look at Chris Davis. Learning lesson for these teams. Only big contract that will work out is mike trout cause he’s the babe Ruth of this era.
