Mike, there’s no such thing as good value with 20% takeout. Horse racing is not a bettable proposition.

that wasn't a tote board bet... tote board was 7/5 (+140) and 5dimes had +215 right up to post

the bet lost but i'll take +215 against a closing line of +140 anytime

How does Jose Ortiz go off at 13-1? Horse racing is a numbers game and jockey bets. Throw 20 numbers in a hat tomorrow and pick out 4 and tri box. Lol at handicapping horse racing

agree with you about handicapping (to some extent)... but there are tons of profitable angles with horse racing, one of them like i mentioned in this thread... another is take a bonus (nyra has $200 bonus for $200 worth of bets right now).

even with churchill downs 17.5% takeout, if you bet $200 and lose $35 that still leaves someone up a quick and easy $165 with the bonus

at nyrabets? they say once through with no show bets, and then once after that with anything

so you're supposed to bet $200 on place/win/exotics, and then another $200 on show/place/win/exotics, but the 2nd rollover isn't necessary, you can totally cash out before that

Value is a word gamblers love to use to convince themselves to make a bet

Yes, horse betting long term isn't worth it for 98% of people.

But to say there aren't inefficiencies is just a lack of understanding. Triple Crown events are classic for them.

    Good luck today boys.
