Doesn't look like a bad break.. Cast on and it will heal before the end of the season.. Probably a small clean bone break which is good if I had to guess. Nothing to nasty..

Ouch, just scooped the ball with his glove hand and then left the game.

That's true but the rehab and getting back to form gets tough on the back end..

This is why pitchers should not get massive contracts

I saw an alert that says he has fractured forearm, so does not sound like clean break.

The issue won't be bone, to determine comeback time then.

The atrophy and rebuild of tiny muscles, tendons, ligaments that connect soft tissue from fingers to elbow will atrophy and need a slow rebuild.

Easy to get back to everyday life after a cast comes off

But throwing 95 mph plus fastballs and spinning the F out of balls ain't everyday life

He might come back quicker if he had a minor surgery with pins or a metal bracket inserted.

Then you have no cast, and keep movement and eliminate atrophy

Rough break (pun intended). And he's 33, so he's no spring chicken. He may very well never be the same.

He's signed through 2021, so if I'm him I take the slower but surer road back.
