Loved reading the paper back in the day. Would take it on the bus, see 50 other riders hidden behind the open pages. No different than everyone staring at their phones now.
Yeah LB, I miss the paper as well.
Had the Boston Globe delivered for 20+ years. Sunday sport section phenomenal.
Tons of HOF writers. Full page NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB.
Ryan, Gammons, MacDonough. They wrote like we were sitting in a bar shooting the shit.
Still get the Sunday Globe in the summer when I am back in the States.
I used to write for a newspaper in my 20s. My dad was in the newspaper business his entire career.
I always loved reading them but I don’t remember the last time I bought one. It’s just day old news or longer now.
I think smaller towns will always have a place for a hometown newspaper. But the days of the print newspaper in larger towns will be over within 10 years or so. They will all transition to online only or close down shop.
