I think he signs in Philly, Philly needs shooting and bench support. I think he can still play off the bench. Houston was a horrible fit, up tempo team in the West and Gordon being out made their defensive issues worse.

Dude the reason he was cut from OKC and Rockets is that he didn't want to play from the bench. He want's to be a starter. It's not going to happen unless he goes to team like Cavaliers. So he either plays for a crappy team or retires. Simple as that.

Rockets saw Goat Milk's thread and they finally realized the guy is dragging the whole team down.

What are you talking about, he already agreed to come off the bench for Houston - they cut him because he couldn't defend, not because he wouldn't come off the bench.

He's absolutely terrible , always has been overrated but his downfall isn't he is getting old , its not his apparent to hell with defense , it's he's just a terrible ass teammate . How any team would want this ass clown is beyond me .
"I don't want to come off the bench ". Head coach should say great news " you aren't coming off the bench , your bitch ass won't be playing at all , thanks for your support ".

He is finished, he needs to retire.

Hopefully Lebron doesn't sympathize for the guy and bring him to the Lakers.

Doesn't take a Rocket scientist to figure out signing Carmelo was going to end up being literally "Houston we have a problem" situation.

    Like duhhhhhh

With that being said, if anyone can revitalize his career it's Lebron. Chandler killing it since signing with the Lakers. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw the Nugget version of Carm. Though maybe karma has come back to bit carmelo in the butt. Very polarizing player and now that he's lost his skills he ain't welcome no more. When Vince Carter is still balling better than you (talkin' bout u Carmelo) it's SAYONARA

No serious competing team will touch Melo with a 10 foot pole. He aint about winning, hes about getting his. He should just go to China, score 50 a game and build whatever brand he has left over there

Not all of Houston's problems were Carmello's fault, Gordon was hurt, they didn't have their defensive coach from last year. There's no reason Carmello can't come off the bench for a solid Eastern Conference team if he's willing to accept that role.

Tell that to the Denver team that got to the conference finals with him or the Knicks team which was absolute garbage before he got there. He's not a starter anymore, and he can't play in the West, but he can still be useful a bench player in the East, he was willing to come off the bench for Houston.

He hasnt played for Denver in almost 10 years, and NY was garbage with him there. The fukk you smoking, chief?

He was released by teo of the top 4 teams in the West for a reason, primarily because they dont really care what he did in Denver or NY, he’s not that player anymore

Of course all of Houstons problems aren’t on him but he didnt make them better in any way.

Carmelo Anthony does have an offer: Puerto Rico's national team. JJ Barea tells ESPN: "If he ever wants a chance to represent us, it would be awesome to have him."

In the wake of Hurricane Maria, the Puerto Rico basketball federation's funding has been decimated. Anthony's retired from USA Basketball and could get a waiver to wear island's uniform. "He could lift the spirits of our country," federation president says.

well university of cincy own gary clark was playing great so he needed to go. I think the first to say he wouldn't make it in htown was the groovekid. As a melo fan it does make me sad. He was dead as soon as the team started the seasonnot hitting their shots. Everyone needs a scapegoat.

nah the only time i was watching Houston play the other team would directly attack Melo on defense everytime down the court until he was back on the bench and they had a lot of success finding a lot of easy buckets

on the other end... melo was either standing around to get a pass and miss an open 3. or dribbling for too long then taking a badly forced shot in a 1 on 1 and the 1 time i saw him try to drive hard to the hoop he had no hops and was EASILY blocked at the rim... which started a fast break bucket for OKC

    he's AWFUL

what planet are you living on? He reached one conference finals in his entire career and the Knicks went nowhere when he was there.

He can't be a useful bench player anywhere because he still believes everything revolves around him.

He was with the Nuggets in his prime and that team still never came close to making an NBA Finals. FYI, it's been 8 years since he played for Denver.

Carmelo played seven seasons for the Knicks in a weak Eastern Conference.

The Knicks won one playoff series in those seven seasons and were 62 games below .500 during his tenure.

It's amazing the Knicks got anything from the Thunder for him.

That would be a great move for him. That and going to China ...but we're talking about one seriously deluded individual here. He thought the idea of a reserve role in OKC was funny.

Surprising that FIBA permits waivers so easily. Shows it's all about money. They don't give a fk about nationalism/ patriotism.
