Should be exciting either way. As a cards fan I hope the cubs choke.
For some reason I think the Brewers lay an egg tho. I think the Rockies and dodgers gonna be great, both those offenses have been crazy

I think you trot Chacin out there and hope he can give you close to 5 innings. That’s pretty much their recipe, best pen in the majors.

I posed the Bullpen Day question because they are considering it. If they do that and lose, they would have Chacin at home for wild card game Tuesday. If they do bullpen and win, they would have well rested Chacin for NLDS Game 1 Thursday and be able to get two starts from him in series.

Seems unwise though. If they lose then their bullpen will be taxed for the wildcard game the following day.

They would be able to use guys tomorrow that may not even be on NLDS roster. Remember, it is still 40-man rosters for the two games Monday,

Right, but they wouldn't. They would end up using all their best relievers. And the WC game is not expanded rosters.

Is WC expanded rosters? I thought it wasn't.

But if things are going well tomorrow, mission accomplished and everyone gets two days off. If things are not going well, they can use scrubs in late innings to save pen.

Again, all of this only applies if they opt to do Bullpen Day.

I would think Milwaukee would do the bullpen game tomorrow. I don't really see the disadvantage to doing this? LT was already razor sharp on the thought process of why this makes so much sense to do. Save Chacin for either Wildcard game or NLDS game 1. You have expanded rosters still and honestly their offense is clicking right now while the cubs is very questionable at best. If things are going south you don't waste any of those good bullpen arms and save them for the wildcard game. You also get to adjust your 25 man roster after the Wildcard game before the NLDS if you win so they can take out whoever would not be available for that as well. I like MIL & LAD tomorrow fwiw.

Yeah bullpen game make some sense. What about Chase Anderson or Guerra? Either way I think they go heavy with the pen using a combination of Hader, Knebel and Jeffres from the 4th inning on.

I hear choices are Chase Anderson, Chacin or Bullpen. I know Chase has good career numbers vs. Cubs but he allowed a lot more home runs this season than in the past so not sure Brew Crew can trust him in Wrigley. So choice probably down to Chacin or Pen.

Rockies could be run down if they lose today and have to go out to the Midwest. Lot of trekking back and forth this late in the season in a short time.
