Angels manager Mike Scioscia on Sunday dismissed a report by The Athletic that he would step down at the end of the season.

Unfortunately there's no way to know if he is any good or not. Mike doesn't believe in all the analytics and new fangled technology that every other team uses. The coaching and training staff destroy players - just take a look at the DL and number of players used over the past several years. It's not a coincidence.

Arte floated the rumor. Scioscia denies.

Pujols is what really brought them down, one of the worst contracts in the history of MLB. But to be fair they had awful luck with injuries. They have some decent arms in the rotation but no top end rotation guys. Richards will likely go elsewhere in free agency.

They've neglected their minor league system for too long, tried too many experiments with pitchers, and broke out the checkbook for too many older players. Not to mention a dumb trade or ten. Good news for Angels fans is that they've slowly built their minor leagues up...still have a long ways to go. Jo Adell is going to be a stud.
