    my brother in law will be gutted...he listens to that coast to coast show daily.

    Art Bell started out as a disc jockey but drifted into political talk radio in the 1970s and saw a ratings boost when he veered into the realm of conspiracy theories and the paranormal. He espoused his belief in alien abductions, ghosts, crop circles report — and even that the Hale-Bopp comet that neared the Earth in 1986 was being followed by a UFO.

    Soon, his late-night show “Coast to Coast” gained national syndication and allowed him to broadcast from his own Pahrump-based radio station, KNYE 95.1 FM. At the height of his fame, as many as 500 stations carried his show in the U.S. and Canada.

    I remember first hearing him one night while driving back in the late 90's
    and said listen to this crackpot talking about aliens and such
    I got hooked and Been listening to the the show ever since.
    Back then before XM had to chase him on the AM stations while driving
    I liked Art better and be had better guests.
    George is good but I think he kind of holds back on stuff and the guests
    like they used to have

    Art Bell is a legend. C2C radio took a major hit upon his departure. He was still podcasting though and I'd eagerly listen to some of his shows when I had time. He had the perfect voice for those "spooky" late-night alternative topics he'd cover on AM radio.
