His life isn't ruined. He is one of the best to ever play the game skill wise. He will be back and maybe not being captain will be good for his game anyway.

Warner is the one that has had his career ended I suspect. Announcing he will never be considered for the Captain or Vice Captain roles ever again is basically saying they blame him.

2 match bans would have done nothing to fix the bad culture in the team. might be harsh but it will mean a massive shakeup and new people able to make decisions.

Lehman, the coach, should go too. To make sure the old guard thinking is completely wiped out for the next year.

I wonder this was the case during the dominant era of Steve Waugh and Ponting captaincy. 15 years ago, Aussies were dominant in world of cricket because of their training and tactics. Now, other teams have caught up with them, getting first-tier training facilities along with good coaching, especially, Indian team who is greatly benefited from their domestic league of IPL which killed other national teams. Aus can be an elite team, not the #1 team anymore.

Feel for Bancroft and Smith the penalties are over the top and so is the media/public. They're copping the heat from a few years of oz cricket douche baggery, at least that will change was well into clown show territory.

Agree. And Warner the main douche bag and left the other two to face the media alone as well.

And now he is apparently selling his story to media exposing everyone else's indiscretions from the team. (guessing that is why Lehman has now resigned and tried to use the tears for sympathy thing.)

Lehman and Warner like cutting out an infected sebaceous cyst from the team. All good for the future.

He will probably play for Australia again as the old boys club that encouraged/allowed the team to act like the assholes of world cricket is still in place.

Agree it is not all his fault but he's a rotten apple. Can't fix that once the damage is done.

Clear it out properly now. New heads at CA are really needed as well.

If he had not made his problem being taunted about his wife being a sports groupie the entire country's problem so recently, he might be getting a bit more sympathy too.

Hate to see them banned for what is on the surface a relatively minor infringement... But cricket is the pinnacle of fairness in sport, it will take Aus years for reputation to recover
