#37Best case scenario: Let's say I have 2 bags full of marbles. Bag #1 has 53 Blue marbles and 47 Red marbles. Bag #2 has 60 Blue marbles and 40 Red marbles. The Blue marbles will represent Wins and the Red marbles will represent losses. I could reach into Bag #2 five times per month and if I'm REALLY good I will pull out Blue marbles 3 times(Wins) and pull out Red marbles twice(losses). Or, I could reach into Bag #1 as often as possible and have a slight edge over the books and still reach into Bag #2 five times per month. I'm far better off reaching into both bags as often as I can as long as my data says that my expected value is positive. Knowing what kind of bag you are reaching into is the hardest part of the problem. Most guys reach into the bags with almost no idea of how many Blue and Red marbles are in the bag. I agree with some of your points however, I still believe that anything with a positive expected value should be played. For people that have no idea of their expected value it doesn't really matter what they do because they are likely going to lose in the long run anyway.Comment -

#40You are directly disrespecting professional gambler here. Mike is where we all want to be. So what if he's smart/frugal with his money to stretch out his dollar. In this economy & the cost of living comparisons are brutal. I do the same !Comment -

Let Mike tell us how his situation really is. I am led to believe he is NOT broke, gambles sensible as you mention in this thread as a key factor for success & lives a "comfortable" life. Mikes been posting profits on here with his picks since inception of SBR. I think your assessment on him is largely false.Comment -

#46Big shots
Know everything
Why not play 1 game per month, your absolute best
Well you can take 5 shots per month
If you start in January with $100 by your last game in December you will have over $230,000
take $500 for 5 tries at it
worst case scenario you lose $500
well I would try it, and did try it but drink too much and always just fukkin go with a 3 teamer within 2 days
You start right now in February and you will have over $100k
WHY NOT??
I will try again when I stop drinkingComment -

To take a step further divide by 5 whatever you were planning on losing in a year and then do this.
