    How come he is calling strikes when on tv the pitch goes way outside the strike zone? am i missing something?

    They give premier pitchers like Keuchel anything relatively close. I was disgusted at that last strike to Bird though, unreal.

    the umps aren't machines, they're people.

    Old timers / Purists say it gives the game personality to have umpires, but the same purists will complain about how an ump missed certain pitchers and/or say the ump needs his eyes checked.

    I think game will be better when they use a machine for strikezone. I remember a couple years ago an actual game was called by a computerized strikezone in minor/independent baseball league game.

    its been awful, 3rd strike on Frazier in the 2nd, then Bird in the 4th, and Gardner in the 6th, all extremely questionable calls.
