Part of the problem only

A complete starting over was in order. The plan was to win the world cup by 2010 and now they can't even get in lol

This ain't basketball/Football, it would not work.
If that was the case Africa/Caribbean would be winning something and they never do.

Which is an indictment on the USA program. How in the hell do you have a guy like Dempsey make 4 straight teams? I mean I like him but no way in hell should he make 2 teams, let alone 4 teams. We need more athletes.

The country club mentality is part of the problem. Almost impossible to play if you don't have money. It's an upper middle class sport in the USA

This X 1,000,000. Sports Tourism spending on youth soccer up 700% over a decade ago while participation down over 20%. The kids that are still playing probably have brothers with sissy names like Grayson and Xavier while Mom and Dad truck them all over two regions of the country every weekend until Mom has one too many Xanax's at a Marriott some tournament weekend and now they live in a crappy apartment with their new Weekend Dad, Curt.

African and Caribbean nations just started participating in World Cups. They are very green but improving. America has more people in Texas than the entire Caribbean and we can't find anyone worth a damn? Athletic kids are not playing soccer. They are playing basketball, football, baseball, hockey and track. I see a small shift here in Texas but for the most part, most of the better athletes are not participating. Go to an AAU basketball game and you will see some of the best athletes on the planet. We need to move them into soccer so they can build a foundation. Moses Malone's kid plays basketball at a nearby gym. The kid is 9 years old and he could probably play goalie right now half as good as fukkin Tim Howard. WTF? That guy is so damn uncoordinated. Overfukkin hyped. Provide an incentive to move theses kids into soccer. Start reaching out to young football kids and teach them the fundamentals of soccer. I'm tired of seeing slow footed guys wearing USA. Fukk.

There's a youth skills camp down the street. The guy who runs it is an excellent trainer. 90% of the kids have well off parents that drop them off each week. The kids are getting good fundamentals and will be good soccer players eventually... BUT the kids are not athletes. They will never be elite level athletes. The older they get the larger the gap. They are highly skilled with the ball but they are not athletes. They will be good soccer players but you need GREAT soccer players that are athletes first.

This is wrong,Africa has been participating in World Cups since the 70's,African teams have had some decent finishes,Cameroon QF in 90 and Nigeria in 94,Ghana were meant to be on the rise but didn't even qualify this time.
nobody likes soccer because its boring if they shrunk the field made goals bigger and allowed checking maybe people would watch

Sirius 85 Football Show should be good tomorrow morning. This should have been a layup, they whiffed.
Would even think an American-hosted World Cup doesn't look as attractive anymore.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?
